[ This one has Yukio settled under a tree today. His attention is focused on a brand new badge which he holds up to the sunlight -- his second so far. It took a while to get but here it was and it seemed to be worth it. In the background, his houndoom's taking a nap in the sun with his Happiny curled up next to him. ]

Everyone's more or less started going after badges at least once during their stay here, right? I'm just a little curious as to why. Personal reasons? Motivation?

[ He'll just take a while to polish off that badge before settling back down against the tree trunk. Pardon him. Someone's feeling a bit philosophical today. ]

Also, I'd like to know if there's any place to get somewhere to put these badges. If anyone's making them, I'd like to go about ordering one.

[ Argh, these little blips he makes on the network. So hard to end them so... have a hasty little awkward smile. ]

It's not as different as most people think. Father sent us to school when we were little and raised us as if we were his own. He used to attend PTA meetings and talk to teachers, everything a parent would do.

I guess the only difference was we never really had our mom with us... and instead were raised with five other men around instead.

[...Maybe. It does sound like Rin have a pretty normal life, save for some differences.]

Man, that sounds almost normal. The five other men thing is different, but that sounds like it could be fun.

[Unless some of them nag about doing the chores.]

I got a pretty normal life for most part, although I don't know a lot of people whose parents work abroad.

Yeah, it's pretty normal. Not exactly as different as other people think.

Fairly normal for both of us, I guess... until this happened.

Being brought to another world tends to do that, from what I know. There's only a few people that think this is normal.

[That and all of the stories in manga, too.]

But I couldn't complain too much, when I can be a Pokemon trainer here.

I didn't even think there was someone else who knew it was normal.

I was just wondering, that's all. I didn't think it was possible but... do you think we've actually gone inside the game?

The actual games themselves... [Ah yes, one of his theories.] I'm not sure. One of my theories, beside going to a world that happens to have Pokemon and the Kanto region, is basically that. Being stuck inside the game.

Like there's a couple of few things that just doesn't work in any of our home worlds, such as being unable to climb up the ledges. But on the other hand, that might be how this world works, like its own laws of physics.

I've only really played the first game so I was a little surprised at first. It didn't really seem to make sense to anyone so I didn't really say anything.

We're probably going by the game's rules, too. You can't climb ledges and there's that background music that never goes away...

Not only that, but you can't use certain moves outside of battle until you have the right badge. It can go either way, stuck in the game or an actual world by itself.

[Which are distinctively different.]

And you're not the only one. There's a fair number of us who played the games and generally mention it when they first arrived.

I might have tried to mention it to that person who calls herself Mom when I first arrived but she kind of just glossed over it. Same with the rest of the townspeople I've asked.

This is just getting weirder and weirder.

Yeah. It seems like the natives here wouldn't know anything about it. If there's someone who do, we haven't find them or they haven't spoken up.

[He tries not to sigh.]

...I'm hoping there might be some clue after all this time. It would be great if we can find a way home.

It would be... but it doesn't look like any of us have found anything yet.

The library during the last prom didn't give me any answers... but this is kind of one step closer, I guess.

I wouldn't mind if we can go there again. They might've update their collection between then and now. But that's one less location we can check on for info.

[There's the rest of the world to investigate.]

Almost make me wish we can go back to that creepy castle again.

Castle?

[ He didn't quite hear about that. Maybe he'd been too preoccupied with settling in. ]

I'd be lying if I said it wasn't disappointing, not having found any information at all.

You probably haven't heard. Last year, a bunch of us ends up in this creepy castle without our Pokemon. It's almost like a survival horror, but there's a library from what I remember...

Actually, next month would be the anniversary since October's coming up...

[Oh crap, October.]

That was probably before or a little after I first got here.

[ ...wow... so he has been here almost a year. ]

I guess this place has its own way of celebrating Halloween.

Probably afterwards, if you haven't heard.

[He vaguely recall some discussions after the fact.]

And yeah. Usually Halloween involves something with our souls, which is why you should be careful and have your Pokemon with you.

Souls...?

[ His exorcist senses are tingling. ]

Did everyone who was taken make it back alright?

I'm pretty sure, yeah. There's no panicking reports of people who haven't made it back. I think it's because we all manage to work together and get out of it.

[There was...a big battle? Something his Pokemon can't fight against?]

That's a relief.

[ Because that'd be a major problem if there was something more sinister behind the scenes. ]

Hopefully they won't go that far this year.

I hope so as well... But we'll see how it might turn out by Halloween.
