Those crystals look like they're coming up in most of the major cities as far as what I'm seeing on the network so far.

[ He isn't in town yet. Chilling in Ilex Forest with his Houndoom by his side. ]

Does anyone know which cities in particular are being hit or does every city seem to be coming up with them? I'd like to know if anyone's managed to take a closer look at--

[ But he's interrupted by the rustling in the bushes. His houndoom reacts first, getting up and trotting over to wherever the rustling was coming from. ]

Shiva?

[ The Gear is set down on its side and over in the corner of the feed, you can barely see his Houndoom coming out of the bushses with an Espurr in its mouth. Immediately, his trainer knows what those things are. He's seen them all over the network. ]

...Shiva, put that pokemon down.

[ And the espurr looks up at Shiva. When it does, you can swear that its ears may be flicking ever so slightly. ]

[That bitty Espurr isn't the only creature lurking in the woods. It starts off as a far-off sound - probably some stantler moving as a herd to their next grazing spot.

But then it gets louder - and closer - and that was definitely the sound of just two feet. The trees swayed and moved as if they were being physically pushed out of the way.

AND THEN SUDDENLY THERE IS NOTHING BUT BLUE FLAMES IN THE DISTANCE. OR A BLUE FLAME-CLAD PERSON. AND THEY ARE RUSHING RIGHT AT YUKIO.]

[ The Espurr worried him at first because he's seen what those things are capable of... but then Shiva might be able to fend of a swarm if need be. He's about to call his Houndoom back but that sound... and those flames.

He isn't ready for those flames. Whatever called that Titan to this world might have called something else too. He's a freshly minted exorcist without any of his gear. He's not ready for a full blown Satan atta--

But as he braces himself, looking left and right for any sort of weapon, Shiva decides to toss the Espurr away and tackle the source of those blue flames. ]

Shiva!

[ So... have a faceful of Houndoom headed your way, Rin. ]

[The entity sees the Houndoom and - and attempts to evade it. In fact, it almost looks like the entity might be trying to speak to the Houndoom. Maybe if Yuko were paying attention, he'd catch the words "Calm it down! It's just me! ...C'mon, quit it!"

But that's only if he was paying any attention to words and not MONSTROUS BEING OF "DEADLY" BLUE FLAMES. OH SO SCARY. OH THE HORROR. Said demon turns away from Shiva for just a moment.

AND IT'S LOOKING RIGHT AT YOU, YUKIO.]

[ It's a deer-in-the-headlights moment when he comes face to face with whatever the source of that blue flame was. His hand is already groping for a nearby fallen branch. Sure, a branch won't be much defense against Satan but it might distract him long enough to get a--

But he squints, catching wind of those protests and when he finally gets a good look at that demon... ]

...Rin?

[ He relaxes only slightly, even as his houndoom is wrestling Rin to the ground but it seems almost playful now.

Meanwhile, the Espurr has scampered to hide behind a tree, its ears twitching even more. ]

[Rin is back to fuming with indignant rage. But most of that glares loses about 99% of its power as Houndoom successfully brings Rin to the ground. Okay, buddy, he'd love to play with you too but there's an issue of clothing and he's not too sure how to girls keep skirts from flying up. Or down. And why did skirts have to turn sideways, that was just evil. Even so, Rin keeps on eye on Yukio.]

Of course it's me! [He'd follow with "who else could it be?" but. You know. Only one obvious answer for that question.]

Why... why are you...

[ He should have pissed himself in fear by now because there it is right in front of him: confirmation he failed. His brother has been taken over by his demonic nature. He's next. He couldn't protect him.

But instead, this comes out: ]

Why are you in a skirt?

[ Please tell him you lost a bet, niisan. Please. ]

Are ye alright, Yukio? { There's not much she can do, but the situation doesn't sound good. }

I'm fine.

[ It's a little hushed and he hasn't picked up the Gear yet, just taking a cautious step back as he reaches for it. ]

I've just heard a few things about that particular Pokemon so I don't want Shiva startling it.

What have ye heard? I don't wan' you riskin' yerself for some mystery Poké. { It's easy for her to feel protective of nice people. }

[ Ah, if you could only see the way his ears are burning from that. Really. People caring. ]

I... I won't.

[ He's finally reaching for the Gear, dusting it off when he picks it up. ]

They're small but there's something about its ears... I'm not sure I want to find out right now. I've heard dangerous things coming to this world recently.

{ There was a time she couldn't take care of anyone - including herself. She has gotten stronger since then. If she can make the world kinder then she will do so. }

Good! I'll hold ye to that.

{ She isn't quite waggling her finger, but her sigh says volumes. }

Aye. Strange happenin's. If ye don't recognize him, best leave him be.

[ He'll be fine. Steeling himself now because he'll be fine. He's always fine. ]

Yeah. I'll be careful.

[ Shiva meanwhile is watching his trainer, head tilted to the side. ]

Have you ever seen this kind of Pokemon before?

I dunno how much help I could be if ye got into trouble, but I bet I could find someone for ye. { She'd comb through the network like mad. } Can't say I 'ave. Seen cat ones before but that one is different.

[ Have a smile from that. It's the same one he uses to assure everyone. ]

I'll be fine... but thanks. You don't need to worry about me.

[ There's a frown though. ]

It is. It looks harmless but you never know when it comes to pokemon.

I'm still in Goldenrod right now.... But perhaps I should say more after you've dealt with your new friend? Be careful. Wild Pokemon can be rather unpredictable at times, can't they?

I'm not really all that sure if it's a friend right now.

[ He's fishing in his pocket for something though. ]

I just need to distract Shiva long enough for him to let it go but I'd like to hear about what's going on in Goldenrod.

Well... If you're certain.

Just from keeping an ear out, I've heard that Azaela, Blackthorn, and Ecruteak have also had these strange crystals appearing. They're... truly bizarre. Plain attacks won't do anything to them- but other kinds will do although I'm not sure what the difference quite is. However, those kinds of attacks just make them get bigger.

[ Don't worry, Garry. They got this. Already, Yukio's pulled out a small bit of jerky from his pocket and that seems to have gotten Shiva's attention. ]

Bigger...? How big are they getting?

[ There's a small frown though. Has anyone tested these crystals yet? ]

I haven't exactly experimented too much, since it seemed dangerous and I didn't want to make the situation worse, but...

Ah, hold on. Let me send you something.

[And what he's sending is this video.]

[ He takes a moment to study that video. ]

So... they seem to be growing whenever they're attacked, like you said. But why...?

[ What kind of crystals are these? But glancing back at his Houndoom now. ]

Shiva. Put it down! We need to get to Goldenrod and fast.

Do you need any help? I have a lot of Flying type Pokemon who know Fly- we could come pick you up along with Ib. [Because ha ha like hell he's leaving her behind while all this is happening.]

[ Plenty of time for questions later though. ]

Shiva and I are closer to Azalea City than to Goldenrod. It'll probably still be a good four days so... I think we'll be taking that ride, thanks.

A friend of mine- she's too young to leave on her own.

Anyway, we'll leave soon then- I'll let you know when we get close to the forest. Is there any way you could send up a signal of some sort to let us know where you are when I do that?

[ He thinks it over for a moment. ]

I've got my Starly, but he doesn't know Fly yet. I could send him up to show you where we are.

That sounds good. It might take a few hours... But I'll go as fast as I can.

[ There's a pause as he motions his Houndoom to follow after him. ]

We're close enough to the exit. Would you rather meet up in Azalea instead?

That would be easier than going through all the trees, wouldn't it? That sounds good, then. Like I said, I'll call you again when I start getting near enough.

Right.

[ And a nod to Shiva to follow. ]

We'll wait for you in Azalea!

Alright then. See you until then!

[Time flying really does seem to go by quickly, because it only takes an hour for Garry to send a message saying he's at the forest, and then another and a half to say he's near Azalea. Honestly, it surprises him. Shouldn't it take longer...?]

[Either way, soon enough there's a Pidgeot and its rider landing down in Azalea. Just them- Ib insisted on staying however much Garry worried about her.]

[ He'll come with a Happiny in his arms, right out of the Pokemon center. ]

Anything you need before we leave?

No, I'm fine. Although... do you have a spare Potion I could use?

[Garry adjusts his backpack until it's in front of him, and opens it up to show a bruised up little Torchic.]

We ended up running into this little thing on the way here. I guess the local Pokemon are getting just as turned around as everything else.

Oh! Sure!

[ Fishing in his pack for a potion before handing it over. ]

Will the potion be enough or should we take it to the pokemon center?

I think that should be fine.

[Still, he uses it first on the little firebird Pokemon, watching for the results before he gives a relieved nod at the Torchic recovers.]

Yeah, she looks much better now! Thank you, I'll be sure to pay you back when we get to Goldenrod. Hold on... [He pulls out a Pokeball and releases an Altaria.] Is this good for you?

[ There's a sigh of relief from that. At least the torchic looks okay. ]

No problem.

[ A beat though, looking at the Altaria. ]

You mean as payment?

[The Altaria just comes a bit closer to lay its head on Yukio's chest and coo. Will you give it attention? Then it is perfectly fine with this.]

[Garry does not share his Pokemon's easygoing nature.]

Ah, no! I mean to ride to Goldenrod!

I think Goldenrod has them but I didn't stick around very long to look. I'm in Ecruteak right now and the one here is pretty big, but I've managed to break off a few chunks of it.

They've found a way to damage it?

[ A beat. ]

Do you know what kind of stone it's made from?

Only a few splinters...

_{[He pauses to reach into his pocket, pulling out a small fragment he decided to keep. It was pretty enough, and this was the first time he's actually seen crystals like this.]}

I don't know though. I've never seen anything like it, but... Any sort of rock can break with enough force, right?

I suppose so. Even diamonds have some kind of breaking point.

[ He squints though. It's a little hard trying to make out what kind of crystal it is. ]

Guess it's best for me to just head to Goldenrod and see for myself.

[ There's a pause though, a thoughtful one. ]

Hey. You haven't heard of any more of those Titans showing up, have you?
