[ This one has Yukio settled under a tree today. His attention is focused on a brand new badge which he holds up to the sunlight -- his second so far. It took a while to get but here it was and it seemed to be worth it. In the background, his houndoom's taking a nap in the sun with his Happiny curled up next to him. ]

Everyone's more or less started going after badges at least once during their stay here, right? I'm just a little curious as to why. Personal reasons? Motivation?

[ He'll just take a while to polish off that badge before settling back down against the tree trunk. Pardon him. Someone's feeling a bit philosophical today. ]

Also, I'd like to know if there's any place to get somewhere to put these badges. If anyone's making them, I'd like to go about ordering one.

[ Argh, these little blips he makes on the network. So hard to end them so... have a hasty little awkward smile. ]

Is it so surprising? As our vision of this world enlarges, so does the pool of questions we can ask. None of us question Johto's boundaries, before we were allowed to visit Kanto.

Kind of. My brother's... well, I've been told my brother has a scruffier look and that I'm kind of dry for my age so it's easy to assume I'm the older twin.

[ Have a small laugh from that. ]

Has your brother ever been here?

I guess it's kind of expected. But it's a little surprising how much the environment changes.

[ A beat. ]

I mean a whole new region no one's been given access to yet...

For Kanto, it was merely a matter of making the Magnet train and the ferry available, but I have a feeling reaching other regions is not so easy. They'd have to be beyond the ocean, or over a mountain chain...

Well, you don't seem that dry in my opinion.

[At least that's not the first impression or anything.]

He has, apparently. I can't remember, since this is my first time here.

Maybe you might get lucky and return home before your eighteenth birthday. [Or he can get stuck here for a few years.] But it's good to make some long term plans, you'd never really know if you're stuck here or be the next person to leave.

Maybe they'll allow us on the SSAnne even if we haven't beaten all the Gym Leaders yet.

[ And he's still considering the possibilities. ]

Either that or if it's over the mountain... The only guess I can make is if there's some sort of mountain path that we uncover.

[ And it's just the truth, plain and simple. He'll figure out the details eventually. ]

I'd like to be able to get home before Rin and I turn eighteen though. Even if I might be existing alongside him back home, there's no telling what he's been up to without my knowing.

[ He's already starting to look better. ]

Someone's got to keep him out of trouble.

Time doesn't seem to work the same way here. Rin and I tried to figure it out when he was here. He'd been here for a while before I arrived... and he remembered things from home that hadn't happened yet from my last memory of it.

The SS Anne only travels between Vermillion and Olivine, sadly. I have the ticket to prove it.

[Not that a cruise doesn't sound nice, but it doesn't help them in this particular situation.]

A cave, perhaps. Caves are wonderful for travel, as long as you don't mind the bats.

It's a thought. Maybe they'd include the new region on the route.

[ Well, it was an idea. But there's a sigh. ]

If they make it a cave, I'll be sure to bring as many repels as I can.

A full team of Pokémon that have reached level 100 is just as efficient, though it takes more time, effort and money to acquire.

That's sort of similar to what's happening with me and most of people from my world... but then there are some very weird complications as well.

[There's always a 75% chance that a new guy from his world is from the "other version"]

I'm sure he's glad to have a responsible brother like you around. But on the other hand, it's Rin we're talking about. He would get into even more trouble, even if you're around to bail him out.

Rin left sometime after our birthday. He's only been back a couple of other times but never to stay.

That's true. It might take a while for my team to reach 100 but they'll probably be ready by the time the new region comes along.

[ All the times his brother came home all bruised and scratched up and all the times Yukio's had to pull out he first aid kit... ]

Dad would have had a heck of a time dealing with him alone.

Unless the path to reach it is discovered tomorrow. ...Which I'd not complain about, I must say.

Yeah, definitely not. Especially when you could have been here for years and someone just met you back home before coming here.

[Pretty sure a lot of scientists would tear their hair out of their head over this...]

That's always a good idea. It can be even faster than the EV News at sharing important information.

[Atsuro himself is a good kid, and rarely get into trouble. Ignoring the time he was bullied for a while, of course.]

Well, I'd rather have my most important people be safe at home than stuck in a weird world.
